The oil companies should have seen it coming. The title alone suggests that Albertans are being taken advantage of by the greedy oil companies. The title is the first shot across the bow guaranteed to cause a public outcry. Makes you question whether the panel was impartial.

It is not surprising that oil companies, traditionally characterized by the media as greedy, are being attacked. What has not been commented on by the media is the Department of Energy which appears to lack the necessary competence to administer a multi-billion dollar resource. Rather than blaming the oil companies, the public should be asking for the resignation of those public employees and officials that have cost the taxpayers billions of dollars.
